Five Reasons You Need a Professional Bathroom Designer

You might think that using a professional bathroom designer to manage your renovation is unnecessary and costly. In fact, there are several benefits of having an experienced designer managing your bathroom or shower room refurbishment – and if you choose a prestigious bathroom company such as European Bathrooms - design and planning is an integral part of our supply and installation service.

  1. Expert Bathroom Design and Advice - We provide professional design services with every installation project. This is because we believe quality design input is fundamental to creating unique, beautiful bathrooms. Our knowledgeable designers spend time getting to know your exact wants and needs, whether it’s a stylish family bathroom or luxurious wet room, enabling us to develop your perfect layout and aesthetic.

  2. Optimise Your Bathroom Space and Storage – Whether you live in a modern or period property, every bathroom is different. Alcoves, wall thickness, doorways, windows and ceilings, plus the position of plumbing, pipework and electrics, all need to be considered when re-modelling. But just because your bathroom has always had a certain set up, it doesn’t mean it has to stay that way.

When a Makeover Isn’t Enough - Four Signs Your Bathroom Need Refurbishing

Wondering if your bathroom needs a simple make-over or a total refurbish? While a splash of paint and new accessories can go some way to revive a tired bathroom, some signs show it’s time for a complete overhaul.

As a leading supplier, designer and installer of luxury bathrooms throughout Buckinghamshire and Berkshire, European Bathrooms know when a bathroom has had its day. Here are four signs to look for:

Dated Bathroom Suites – Lots of bathroom fittings can be tweaked to give a fresh, up-to-date feel, from replacing worn flooring to installing new lighting, however, some features can’t be improved by a quick-fix.

Avocado, peach, pink and canary yellow bathroom suites were all the rage in the 1970s and1980s - the louder, the better! Unless you’re a fan of the retro look, lurid coloured suites are a sure sign your bathroom is past its use-by-date. We have a range of classical bathroom suites and fittings at European Bathrooms, come and browse our Windsor and Amersham showrooms.

Is your bathroom a floor-to-ceiling tiling nightmare? Start planning your dream bathroom today with European Bathrooms.

Old Fashioned Floor-to-Ceiling Tiling – If your bathroom is covered in dated wall tiles – beige tiles with sprays of orange and brown flowers were a popular 80s motif – then refurbishing is the way forward.

Bathroom Consumer Advice

How to Create the Perfect Family Bathroom

Just like the kitchen, the bathroom is one of the hardest working rooms in a home, especially at peak times in the morning and before bed. And just like a kitchen, a bathroom needs to be robust enough to cope with the rigours of day-to-day life - from pre-work showers to little ones’ bath times – yet stylish enough to provide a relaxing sanctuary when you need some much needed ‘me time.’

At European Bathrooms, we’ve been designing family bathrooms for over two decades and have planned, supplied and installed hundreds of versatile yet beautiful bathroom spaces.
Here we guide you through the key elements to consider when creating a stylish family-friendly bathroom.

Space-saving Bathroom Design – Start by looking at the size and layout of the room as this will show which fittings and storage it can accommodate.

If dimensions and budget allow, it’s best to install a separate bath and standalone shower. As well as great for multi-tasking and speeding up children’s bath time, a separate bath and shower adds a touch of luxury, particularly if you opt for a free-standing modern or classic roll-top bath. Additionally, as a sought-after feature, investing in both will help maximise your home’s appeal and price, should you decide to sell.

If space is tight, an over-bath shower works as just well, plus there’s no need to compromise on style either. A double-ended bath, extra deep or P-shaped bath will look great and give the extra space you crave. To prevent water splashes, add a modern, elegant glass bath screen – we carry Merlyn bath screens which come in a vast array of designs.

Whether you’re starting with a blank canvas or an existing bathroom, our expert designers can help you plan and visualise your room for the perfect layout. Complete the form for a free in-house or at home design appointment, or drop in to our Amersham or Windsor bathroom showrooms.

Merlyn bath screens are practical, space-saving and stylish. Pop into European Bathrooms to see our range of designer baths and bath screens.

Storage Solutions – Bottles, sponges, towels, water-squirting whales – if there’s one element a family bathroom needs plenty of, it’s storage.

If space is an issue, utilise the height of the room as opposed to its width. For example, one area that’s often overlooked is around the washbasin. As well as installing a vanity unit underneath the basin and mirrored cabinet above, maximise storage by adding matching units either side.

Three Ways to Create an Eco-Friendly Bathroom

Thinking about going green with an eco-friendly bathroom or shower room?

European Bathrooms, luxury bathroom designers in Windsor and Amersham has over two decades’ experience of delivering stylish new bathrooms, including the latest environmentally-friendly bathroom suites, showers and accessories.

The fantastic thing about installing an eco-friendly bathroom is that it not only helps protect the environment by saving resources such as water and energy, but helps save money on bills. For eco-inspiration, our expert designers have put together three ways to create an eco-friendly bathroom.

  1. Hansgrohe EcoSmart Showers – Hansgrohe, a leading German bathroom manufacturer and champion of ‘Green Bathrooms’, has pioneered one of the best water-saving shower systems.

Save water and reduce bills with Hansgrohe’s Raindance Eco-Smart overhead shower system

All Hansgrohe showers and mixers feature unique ‘EcoSmart’ technology, which means they use 60% less water than regular products. Using less water also means less energy is required to heat it, in turn reducing carbon dioxide emissions, which add to the greenhouse effect.
